mission impossible opening
our thriller's title sequence has been heavily influenced by the opening to the mission impossible series as it is a montage of clips which happen at various stages in the narrative of each episode edited together in a fast paced style, here are the opening montages to several episodes of mission impossible:-

the finished product
I have just watched the finished opening of our thriller Shauden Fraude, it is amazing! Seb's editing is genious, plus Ryan's music which adds to the mood of the title sequence Shannon's acting is great as well as the clown makeup she put on me.

Inspirations for Charlie Chuckles
our film (specifically our villain) has several inspirations either other thrillers or real life events:-
1. John Wayne Gacy
3. The Joker from the movie 'The Dark Knight'
The Joker (played by Heath Ledger) is another inspiration for Charlie Chuckles, he is a man who is obsessed with chaos and anarchy and wants to kill Batman, his backstory is unclear as he tells everyone a different story as to how he got his scars, his obsession with causing chaos is a direct inspiration for Charlie Chuckles.
4. Freddy Krueger from 'A Nightmare On Elm Street'
Freddy Krueger was a child murderer who was killed by the parents of the children he murdered, he somehow came back to get his revenge killing people in their sleep, he would appear in their nightmares and if you died in the dream you died in real life, he likes to torment his victims killing them in ironic ways such as a boy who was deaf he gave him super hearing and started scratching a chalkboard causing the boy's head to explode. The fact that he died and came back for revenge is an inspiration for Charlie Chuckles as well as the fact that he makes fun of his victims while killing them.
1. John Wayne Gacy
a real serial killer who sexually assaulted and murdered at least 33 teenage boys, he dressed up as 'Pogo the clown' and appeared at fundraising events, parades and children's parties because of this he became known as 'the killer clown', the makeup he wears as Pogo is a direct inspiration for the makeup Charlie Chuckles wears in our thriller
2. Pennywise the clown from the movie 'It'
probably one of the most famous evil clowns of all time Pennywise (played by Tim Curry) was a terrifying being with many supernatural powers such as his 'dead-lights' which paralyse his victims with fear as well as his shapeshifting abilities, he is immortal (just like Charlie Chuckles) he prefers to toy with his victims before finally killing them, usually appearing before them to strike fear in them, his calling card is balloons which appear throughout the movie usually popping spraying blood everywhere, his personality is another inspiration for Charlie Chuckles.
3. The Joker from the movie 'The Dark Knight'
The Joker (played by Heath Ledger) is another inspiration for Charlie Chuckles, he is a man who is obsessed with chaos and anarchy and wants to kill Batman, his backstory is unclear as he tells everyone a different story as to how he got his scars, his obsession with causing chaos is a direct inspiration for Charlie Chuckles.

the silence of the lambs
last friday I watched the film 'silence of the lambs' I thought it was amazing, it isn't too scary but it messes with your head, the serial killer 'Buffalo Bill' was actually believable as he behaved like a real serial killer, this is renforced by the fact that he was based on a REAL serial killers such as Ed Gein, a man who collected parts of his victims as keepsakes and skinned several girls to make a 'woman suit' and also made several skin masks, Ted Bundy a man who pretended to be injured as a ploy to ask his victims for help and then he'd incapacitate them and kill them and Gary M. Heidnik a man who kidnapped six women and made them his sex slaves. Hannibal Lecter is also scary because he can mess with your head as he used to be a psychiatrist, so he's very smart, the first scene where he appears, the main character Clarice Starling went to the asylum to his cell and he was just standing in the middle of his cell like he knew she was coming, Lecter seems to like Clarice which is very disturbing, when Clarice finally kills Buffalo Bill it seems like it's all over but Lecter had escaped from his cell and calls Clarice from an airport in Bimini then dissappears into the crowd, that is where the film ends. overall it was a brilliant film and we could use some of the ideas in our film to make Charlie Chuckles a smarter and more believable killer.

codes and conventions of a thriller DVD cover
there are many things a DVD cover for a thriller needs to attract an audience, in order to find out what we would need for our DVD cover for Shauden Fraude I have decided to analyse the cover of a thriller that if you don't know and never heard of, you must be living under a rock:- Jaws
1. the cover has big bold text which grabs your attention
2. the text is red which sybolises blood and henceforth death
3. the shark is really big and takes up most of the cover, and this is just it's head which makes the shark look enormous
4. the woman at the top is small compared to the shark's head, this makes the shark look bigger still
5. the water surrounding the shark is very dark which suggests it's really deep, this creates mystery as the shark is coming from the deep sea and makes you wonder if there is anything else down there
6. the fact that the shark is coming from the deep and looks so monstrous makes it seem as if it came from hell
7. the shark is pointing directly at the woman swimming above
8. the woman's arm is making a triangular shape similar to the shark's dorsal fin
9. the gaps in the 'W' in 'JAWS' look like sharp teeth, two are directly above the woman's body and the single gap at the bottom appears to have stabbed directly through her body
10. the woman is blonde, it is steriotypical for blonde women to be the victims or damsel in distress
11. the woman is surrounded by the red text, this makes it look like she is bleeding
12. the cover depicts a woman being attacked by a shark, this foreshadows the first scene in 'jaws' which is of a woman who gets killed by the shark while swimming
